This is a collection of seascapes from many places – around where I live, Canterbury UK and from around the world. I like the changes in the sea and beaches in different seasons, the changing quality of light and changes during the day. The reflections of cloud and light are fragile and the beach is never the same on different visits. Sometimes they are busy but often desolate. I like to use the light to create different moods and evoke the idea of the beach as a frontier, a point of transition, a place of pleasure but also of threat and decay. These are s mixture of black and white anbd colour images – in some cases the colour was the main attraction of the image.
